Liberty, bastion of Arts and Crafts, was at the heart of the 20th century’s most exciting period in British design; Liberty prints encapsulated 60s radicalism and 70s wearable art. Cleo and Mark Butterfield own the C20 Vintage Fashion Archive used for the recent Liberty in Fashion exhibition at the Fashion & Textile Museum. NJ Stevenson is a fashion historian and author of “The Chronology of Fashion”.
