Day 4 – A round up #BIFLive

Whilst our incredible programme of talks and workshops continued apace at the Assembly Rooms on this our 4th day, our shopping day city wide was actioned.

Our #BIFLive shopping event saw retailers get creative and entice customers old and new in to store with in-store promotions, goodie bags, stylist and make-up masterclasses. It really did have a festival feel. The #BIFBloggers were in town again sampling as much of the offers as was possible and report back a lively and fun day of shopping until dropping.

Our top picks:

The Vogue colouring wall with fashion writer Iain R Webb in Anthropology.

Fashionable faces with at Cutler & Gross.

Befitting on the The Queen’s 90th birthday that we should have royal fashion historian Michael Pick with us to talk about her Majesty’s style journey through the decades as Monarch. Michael impressed with his incredible library of knowledge across her 60+ years as head of state.

Also demonstrating their wealth of knowledge was the sustainable fashion champion Livia Firth who passionately showed her disgust of ‘fast fashion’ after seeing a sweat shop for the first time. ‘Once you’ve seen it and you go home you cant pretend you’ve not seen it.’

In spite of a few technical hitches the wonderful duo from Cute Circuit alongside The Wearable Technology Shows CEO John Weir, produced a lively presentation with plenty of flashing technology, nutty bits of information and stories of Katy Perry crying until her #wt show dress was made and went faster!

Fast fashion, fast dresses and fast rise through he fashion houses for our last guest of the day Julien (born Julian) Macdonald. Julien was ‘desperate’ to leave the valleys and become ‘famous’. Proving dreams do really come true the Strictly Come Dancing animatedly talked to another Bath in Fashion loyal supporter Colin McDowell. The packed tea room at the Assembly Rooms cheered as he arrived and applauded as they finished.

Another wonderfully memorable day at Bath in Fashion.
